Financial services provider Religare Enterprises today said its consolidated net profit declined by 51.80 per cent to Rs 21.4 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2009, over the same period last year.

Total income decreased to Rs 413.5 crore for the third quarter ended December, against Rs 424 crore in the same period previous fiscal, Religare Enterprises said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
On standalone basis, the company has posted a net loss of Rs 4 crore for the December quarter, 15.78 per cent higher from net loss of Rs 3 crore made in the same period last year.
Besides, the company"s board has approved the re-appointment of Sunil Godhwani as chief executive officer and managing director of the company.
Further, the board has also approved the letter of offer for rights issue.
Shares of Religare Enterprises today closed at Rs 394.70 on the BSE, up 0.23 per cent from previous close.
